0110 Spindle Keylock Up to speed detector
Sheet 4 plug 2 pin-G

This error indicates a 24 volt signal from the 'Up To Speed Detector' relay present at the control interface when there should be zero volts. It should only occur if the spindle fails to rotate when an M19 spindle keylock is requested. If the 0110 error displays on powering-up the machine the problem is likely to be a control fault, refer to paragraph (c).

a) Ensure that potentiometer 5 on the facia of the Shackleton auxiliary detector rack is wound fully clockwise; manually programme an M19 spindle keylock. If the spindle doesn't rotate, or turns very slowly, the 'speed loop zero' pot on the '3 phase control board' in the master stack of the Shackleton drive unit may need slight clockwise adjustment. Follow the procedure for the spindle drive set-up in the 'Commissioning and Service Manual'. If the spindle runs and keylocks correctly, but a 0110 error displays, continue with paragraph (b).

b) The fault is related to the 'Up To Speed Detector' board in the Shackleton auxiliary detector rack, board number 5. Either potentiometer 5 is faulty or there's a fault on the board. If another Shackleton Drive Unit is available, of the same type, the boards can be exchanged to test. If no replacement board is available, the board can be checked using the diagnostic unit plugged into the top of the board. Switch-off the machine at the isolator. Disconnect the diagnostic unit from the 'Master Stack' and plug it into the 'Up To Speed Detector' board (5th board from the left). Power-up the machine and programme a spindle speed and M03 or M04. If the voltage on switch position 13 (the input voltage) is equal, but opposite polarity to the voltage on switch position 15 (the setpoint voltage bandwidth) then the relay should be closed; the switching is monitored at position 23. The setpoint bandwidth should be set by potentiometer 5; set fully clockwise for maximum bandwidth.

c) Switch-off the control and transpose the 'DI' boards situated in the lower rack to the left. Power-up the machine and retry; if a different, unrelated error displays the 'DI' board is faulty and will need replacing. If the same 0110 error returns the fault may be with the 'Watchdog' board (WD 50x) in the control or corruption of the memory. If another control is available the 'Watchdog' boards can be exchanged to test. If the memory is to be reloaded remember to punch-out programme and tool information first (although an up to date back-up tape should always be held).
